Cookies and other online tracking technologies (which we will also refer to as "cookies" for the purpose of this Cookie Statement) are used whenever you use our online services or apps.
Cookies are used for a number of different reasons on the OutMazed™ Tourism website, such as for functionality, traffic analysis, and advertising.
Please continue reading to find out more about cookies, how they are used, and the options available to you.

Cookie and other tracking mechanisms in the web
A "cookie" is a little text file that a website asks your computer or mobile browser to store on your hard drive.
In order to save your preferences and settings or to analyze your usage of online services, these cookies keep track of the pages you visit and the links you click.
First-party cookies are set by the same domain as the visitor, whereas third-party cookies are set by a different domain.
First-party cookies are those set by the website you are visiting, in our instance OutMazedTM Tourism. We refer to the cookies we set up as "first party cookies" because we are the ones who initially set them up.
When we say that a third party is placing cookies on our domains, we mean that it is a trusted partner that we have chosen to let to do so. Partners can be anyone from advertisers to social networking sites to security firms and beyond.
Both "session cookies" and "permanent cookies" are possible:
• Session cookies are temporary and disappear when you exit your browser. Temporary cookies remain on your device until you delete them, or until you close your browser, if they are set to expire. Whenever possible, we only use temporary cookies (or allow temporary cookies to be served by third parties) on the OutMazed™ Tourism platform. However, there may be situations when a cookie's lifespan needs to be extended for reasons of security or other special conditions.
Information such as your IP address or other identifier, browser type, and the content you view and interact with on digital services may be stored in cookies on your web browser. Cookies are small text files stored in your web browser that contain information about your choices and settings for various online services and data about how you interact with those services.
Along with cookies, we also employ very similar tracking technology. The way you use our website, emails, and mobile apps may be tracked using tiny, invisible picture files or lines of code. Web beacons, scripts, tracking URLs, and software development kits (SDKs) fall under this category.
• There is a plethora of aliases for web beacons. Web bugs, tracking bugs, tags, web tags, page tags, tracking pixels, pixel tags, 1x1 GIFs, and clear GIFs are some of the many names for these images.
In brief, these beacons are a single-pixel visual image that can be sent to your device as part of a web page request, in an app, in an advertisement, or in an HTML email message.
Your IP address, the time of your visit, and the sort of device or operating system you're using can all be gleaned via cookies. They can also be used to set off the browser's cookie function or to read previously placed cookies.
•Scripts, which are tiny computer programs, are inserted in our web pages to add a wide range of added functionality. Website functionality is ensured by scripts. Some of our website's security safeguards and interactive elements depend on JavaScript to function.
In addition to these creative uses, scripts have analytical and promotional potential. For instance, a script may record your actions on our site, such as the pages you see and the information you seek.
Links that contain a tracking identifier are called tracking URLs. These are used to determine from which site you were referred to the OutMazed™ Tourism website or app. If you got here via a search engine, social media, or one of our affiliates' sites, that's an example.
• Our apps' Software Development Kits (SDKs) are included in the app's source code, and SDK data is stored in the app storage rather than the browser's cookies.
To track user behavior and provide targeted push alerts, among other uses. They do this by keeping track of your smartphone's unique identifiers, such its device ID and IP address, as well as your app usage and whereabouts on the network.
In this Cookie Statement, the term "cookie" will be used to refer to all of these tracking mechanisms.
The function of cookies
Cookies are used to collect information, including:
• IP address
• Device ID
• Viewed pages
• Browser type
• Browsing information
• Operating system
• Internet service provider
• Timestamp
• Whether you have responded to an advertisement

They make it possible for our apps and websites to recognize you even if you switch devices or browsers. Cookies can be categorized as either "functional," "analytical," or "marketing" depending on their intended use.
Functional cookies
If you want to use our websites or apps, you need to make sure that you have these cookies enabled.
With the help of these "functional cookies," you may quickly explore and book on websites and apps that are technologically innovative and user-friendly. Included in this is the activation of mandatory safety and accessibility options.
More specifically, these cookies:
• Fix our website and apps so that you can create an account, sign in, and manage your bookings.
• Our website and apps will remember your chosen currency, language, searches, and other preferences so you can use them quickly and easily.
• Remember your registration information so you don't have to type in your login information every time you visit our website or app. (Don't worry, passwords will always be encoded.)
Analytical cookies
These cookies measure and track how our website and apps are used. We use this information to improve our website, apps and services.
More specifically, these cookies:
• Tell us how you use OutMazed™ Tourism and our apps as a visitor or customer.
• Help us improve our website, apps, and communications so that we are interesting and useful.
• Help us figure out what works on our website and apps and what doesn't.
• Help us figure out how well ads and other forms of communication work.
• Tell us how people use our website or apps after seeing an online ad, including ads on other websites.
• Give our business partners a way to find out if their customers take advantage of the hotel deals that are on their websites.
The information we get from these cookies can include the web pages you've visited, the pages you came from and left, the type of platform you've used, the emails you've opened and what you did with them, and the date and time. It also means that we can use information about how you've used the site or app, like the number of clicks you make on a given screen, how you move your mouse and scroll, the search terms you use, and the text you type into different fields.
Marketing cookies
OutMazed™ Tourism and our trusted partners use these cookies to learn more about you over time and across different websites, apps, and other platforms.
Marketing cookies help us decide which products, services, and ads based on your interests to show you on our website and apps and elsewhere.
More specifically, these cookies:
• Put you into a certain interest profile, based on things like the websites you visit and how you click on links on those sites. We use these profiles to show you personalized content on OutMazed™ Tourism and other sites, like travel ideas or specific places to stay.
• Show personalized ads based on what you like on the OutMazed™ Tourism website, in our apps, and on other websites. This is called "retargeting," and it's based on your browsing history, like the places you've been looking for, the hotels you've looked at, and the prices you've seen. It can also be based on how you shop or what else you do online.
• Retargeting ads can be shown to you before or after you leave OutMazed™ Tourism. Their goal is to get you to look around our website or come back. These ads could be on websites, in apps, or in emails.
• Add social media to our apps and website. This lets you like or share content or products on social media sites like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, Snapchat, and LinkedIn.
These "like" and "share" buttons work by using bits of code from each social media site. This lets third parties place cookies on your device.
These cookies can be used just for their intended purpose, but they can also be used to keep track of which websites you visit from their network, to make a profile of how you use the Internet, and to show you ads that are more relevant to you. Part of this profile will be made from similar information the providers get when you visit other sites in their network.
Look at the cookie and/or privacy policies of Facebook (which includes Instagram, Messenger, and Audience Network), Snapchat, Pinterest, and Twitter to learn more about what they do with your personal information. Keep in mind that these statements may change over time.
We work with trusted third parties to collect data. We may also sometimes share information with these third parties, such as your email address or phone number. These third parties might link your data to other information they collect to create custom audiences or deliver targeted ads. For information on how these third parties process your data, please take a look at the following links: How Google uses information, Facebook's data policy.
Non-cookie techniques – email pixels
We may also use techniques, like pixels, that we don't call cookies because they don't store any information on your device.
In emails like newsletters, we sometimes put pixels. A ‘pixel’ is an electronic file the size of a single pixel, that is placed in the email and loaded when you open it. With email pixels, we can tell if the message was sent, if you read it, when you read it, and what you clicked on.
This information is also sent to us about the push notifications we send you. These statistics give us information about how you read, which we use to improve our messages and make them more useful to you.
